The Poetry Map

The Poetry Map

I’ve been busy today translating everything from the project so far onto a Google Map which can be used to poetically navigate Sheffield! If you click on the pins above you will find links to all the poems written about the locations mapped.

A few teething problems occurred, of course – Google Maps isn’t great with formatted text, so my initial plan to paste full poems into the map fell at the first hurdle, but you can find a link to every piece of writing with a little quote. Embedding a map to the website has also taken me about a week to work out, but it turns out that linux is much happier with ‘old style’ personal maps than the new map engine.

Enjoy! I hope this map makes everyday walks and commutes that little bit more exciting.
